The Wow Factor
13/06/2023
The Wow Factor – the first fashion show organized at UEH – aims to create a space for interaction and exchange between international designers, young designers, scientists, professional partners, and students. It also marks the beginning of new initiatives aimed at sustainable actions for the future.
It was truly a celebration of fashion, music, and dance. Emotions peaked when designer Quỳnh Paris made a surprise appearance, delivering a mesmerizing performance with a magical violin. Her piece “Victory” ignited a wave of emotions in a romantically charged artistic space. The story of sustainable fashion was told, from collections made of recycled materials by international designers to collections from a young designer’s fabric scrap project. These stunning and deeply meaningful collections left an unforgettable impression on the audience.
Sustainable fashion and green fashion are not just the concern of designers, fabric manufacturers, or consumers; they are questions for society as a whole. Each of us must take responsibility for our actions toward the environment. The interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder connections, and the collaboration of various sectors to create a sustainable fashion industry, are what UEH aims to contribute to as we move toward the society of the future.
The collection “Planetary Rewilding” by designer Quỳnh Paris reflects the idea that wild nature will return regardless of human existence. Earth is facing the sixth global mass extinction, and this collection promotes a comprehensive sustainable lifestyle using materials made from natural, recycled, and organic fibers that are environmentally friendly. It tells the story starting from the image of “Fading Nature,” offering a vision of a pure natural future alongside the light of stars in the universe. The touch of “green fibers,” intertwined with the breath of aspiration and passion, will empower humanity to explore the core of its own value and existence.
Sustainable fashion is likened to “motivational art” combined with “technology,” creating models that inspire creativity from the realities of consumer culture to the economic civilization of life.
We are grateful for the support of you—an internationally renowned designer, ranked in the top 5 in Asia and top 10 in the US, with a pioneering fashion trend award in Paris over the past decade—who remains humble, loving, and passionately dedicated to education and the future generation.
The space suddenly lit up with excitement and brilliance when the children appeared. These young performers, the children of teachers and friends, after 8 rigorous rehearsal sessions, graced the stage with their elegant and adorable steps. Thank you so much; you made the program a success. Special thanks to Miss Trịnh Vân Anh and Ms. Hoàng Thị Ái Nhân for implementing this ambitious plan, turning 0 into 1—transforming elementary and middle school students into professional, dazzling models on the UEH catwalk.
